Do you need to pay stamp duty on a trust deed in New South Wales (NSW)?

Yes. Duty of $500 is payable on the deed that establishes a family discretionary trust (and other forms of trusts).

This duty must be paid to the Office of State Revenue within 3 months of the date on which the trust is established.

If you want to stamp multiple copies of the same deed, then each additional copy incurs duty of $10.
